Problem religion.
Am I wrong but considering the items on the recent UK media all the problems seem to be involving the Muslim religion. Considering other religions such as Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Christianity as other major religions in the world, they all seem to pale into insignificance.
It seems to be that the Muslims have more than their fair share of fanatics willing to plot and carry out atrocities against anybody, even their own people. What I can't understand is why they use religion as an excuse for political agenda. |
Re: Problem religion.
The religion isn't the problem. It's whats happening in the countries that causes the fanatics, and when it comes down to it, it's a good mechanism to drum up support. The yanks do it too. "God willing, we'll install a puppet democracy, move in some companies and take their oil". They're not so fanatical, but its a good way of making the uneducated majority warm to your policy.

These feckers are a massive worry though, even if they're a very small % in the UK. |
Re: Problem religion.
Radical Muslims interpret Islam differently to the genuine ones, the trouble is the radicals' interpretation of Islam somehow translates in to terrorism and blaming the western world for everything so we will never stop them.

Re: Problem religion.
Islam is 500 years newer than Christianity, 500 years ago christians weren't so pleasant either.
It's more about the people and cultures in the places than the religion IMHO, the radicalism of Islam is just another symptom of the same issue. |

Wasn't long ago that the catholic church was roaming europe killing people who didn't agree with their way of thinking.

Is there anything specific you want us to listen too? For the record, we're not talking about the majorities in Islam or any other religions here, they are /were the radical minorities. |
Re: Problem religion.
Regarding history I agree that religion has nearly always been involved in conflicts but I am not talking history but the present day. Hopefully we are all better educated than we were historically but why the fanaticism when willing to embrace certain parts of the modern world but on the other hand reverting to the dark ages.
I have travelled a fair bit of the world and seen different cultures but Muslim seems the most extreme no matter what country it is in. Possibly it is the indoctrination of simple minded people but it is the people teaching the indoctrination who incite the radical behaviour and they are supposed to be the educated. You hear all the excuses from the moderates within the religions but I have yet to hear of any moderate reporting his "Brother or sister" to the state when it seems obvious to me that these people can not be going about the business of terrorism with others not knowing about it. |
