Brake discs from China?
Has anyone brought front discs from eBay and encountered import tax and extra charges etc etc

Re: brake discs from china
Not from China but you can get exact copies from UK sellers, I have a rear one and it is fine.

I got a full set for my old Bandit 600 from Sandy Bike spares on ebay. Think about £200 and got new pads from them too all in.

I got a rear kazigume on ebay for £35, half price of oem and feels gd to me.

Re: Brake discs from China?
Sorry but after witnessing the friction material actually come away from the back plate on a set of cheap Chinese pads I swore never to scrimp again.
In this world you get what you pay for and I wouldn't risk it on brakes. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2 |

Re: Brake discs from China?
Yup precisely i would never skimp on tyres or pads. Me and dad were talking about discs, whats the difference between £30 and £120? What have they actually changed?? The way they make the metal, harden it maybe, quality of the steel but theres no way a disc 4 times the cost could last 4 times as long or be 4 times as effective so i dont see the need to pay silly money. My cheap rear disc stops perfect with ebc hh pads.

Re: Brake discs from China?
It could last 4 times as long if the cheap one warps whenever you brake hard and heat them up. I don't know if they're good or not, or strong or not, but warping is the main enemy of your discs IMO.

Re: Brake discs from China?
True, but i rarely brake hard on the rear so hopefully wont have to test that out..

Re: Brake discs from China?
I'd consider a cheap Chinese rear as well mate. If it fails, it won't be a drama as I only use it gently too. I'd just have to buy properly the next time.
