Another lottery thread: Have you won?
 

Just wondering, its an £80m special tomorrow on the euromillions so looked at playing again and the usual thoughts go through your head. Of course it's a mugs game, the house always wins but someone somewhere gets a bone every now and again so what's your biggest win?

I found an old thread with this but didn't want to zombie a thread from 2005, it might smell a bit.

I play by direct debit for convenience. It's great accept for the fact that if/when you win something you get an email telling you "you have won". No amount is mentioned and you have to go online and log into your lotto account to see how much you've won.
You know deep down its gonna be a tenner but during those couple of minutes between getting the email and actually finding out you can't help but get your hopes up a tiny bit that you may have scooped the jackpot.

Not happened yet though. £10 still my biggest win to date :(

exactly the same here :) those moments of hope are surprisingly fun. you still feel like you've come out ahead. I guess if it said "only joking" when you logged in then you'd feel worse than when you started ;)

We won £2000 on our 5 person syndicate. I got the call about the win the day after Reeder died. So I sent a chunk of my winnings to Reeder's parents to be donated to the Air Ambulance who attended the scene of his accident. I got a really nice letter back from the Air Ambulance people a few months later saying how upset they were that day but that the money I sent would be put to good use.

Won 80k on a 10 person syndicate, so i got 8 grand. Spent it on "housey" bits then got divorced. D'oh!

I though it was Tuesday once, but it was actually Wednesday. Lady said I could have a ticket for that evenings lotto. Thought to hell with it and got one. Went back to check the next day and had won £40 :) biggest win and have spent more than that!

Bought 3 of the same £1 scratch cards in NI years ago.. £200 on the first one, £20 on the second, £0 on the third... and bar a few quid here and there on the lottery/euro that about sums up my winnings :)
