Pointy speedo rotor fit Curvy?

just a quick question, my speedo magnet seem's to have broken and and chunks taken out of it [i know how and why was while removing front wheel] but my main question is, i have a friend who has the full speedo mechinism from an early sv650 [curvey model] however i have the "pointy" model (or to bed exact the 3rd [red] bike from the right in the top right of this page, now are these parts interchangeable ? can i use my mates spare ? cheers guys scott

Speedo rotor is the same from '99 to '04.

Later rotors will physically fit but will cause the speedo to read wrongly, if you're not sure which year the spare one is, try it and see - you'll soon know if it works right or not.

It's from a 2000 W, should the magnet itself come out, it doesn't seem to?
