Chain noise after adjustment.
 

Hello,

I was cleaning my bike today and found out I had about 4 fingers worth of slack.

So I loosened the axel nut and did the tensioner until I was about 2 fingers worth of slack.

Now this is happening and I can't figure out why:

When I rolled it back into my garage when cleaning up it made a repetitive noise like a frog or toad croak (only way of explaining).

I think it's down to the wheel not being on straight (so me being a massive tit) but if anyone can confirm or know why it's being a pain please help.

To me, your chain looks a bit tight. You want around 30mm of play at the tightest spot, on the sidestand.

Righty oh, i'll loosen it a bit tomorrow near and check near the sidestand.

Will say tomorrow if it works or not if my internet doesn't play up again.

It looks to me like you've got a tight spot in the chain. Have a go at giving it a clean up and lube. It could be new chain time though.

Don't check near the sidestand. Have the bike resting on the sidestand not up on a paddock stand, then check the chain.
To be sure your wheel's on straight give it a quick visual check by standing behind it when its on the paddock stand and give it a spin a wobble should be pretty clear to the eye.

I cleaned the chain and sprayed with a chain lube. The chain was running okay before I got involved :(

so it's something that i've done haha

Okay i'll give that a go too, hopefully it's just a tight chain otherwise my tension indicators are off and i'll have a fun time straightening out the wheel with a ruler D:

Realised I read Tomor's post wrong, thought he meant the tightest spot is near the sidestand. Instead check at the tightest point, whilst on the sidestand.

looks to me that the pulse of the engine at tickover is making the chain clunk,my v4 does the same when i oil the chain on tick over when the engine is cold,try turning the wheel by hand when the bike aint running,and when you say 2 finger travel on the chain,do you mean 2 fingers movement in the middle,depending on the size of you fingers it could be just right or too tight,on some bikes the chain should be checked with the rider sitting on the bike
