Gutted my K&N
So, I finally got round to gutting my K&N air filter ready for my re-jet over the weekend.
Half an hour with a Dremel using a cutting disc and then a sanding attachment and I'm left with this: http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/...ps30b2e32a.jpg Not the neatest job in the world, but it will do. Having said that I did manage to just about nick the top of the wire mesh through the plastic (bottom right of photo), but thankfully no harm done: http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/...ps575b9c5b.jpg One thing I have done is cut the rubber sealing gasket a bit short: http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4657c409.jpg Will this affect the seal at all? It does come with some kind of sealing grease and is obviously screwed down, so hopefully not. Any thoughts? |

Hmmm, found this thread:

Re: Gutted my K&N
I'm interested to see how it goes because I have one of those in the shed. When I fitted it to my bike it barely ran and because i couldn't afford the rejet i took it out again. Its been in the shed for a while now!
