had another one of those moments where you appreciate just how amazing the internet is. I was thinking this morning about watching a Will Hay film, I got the box set when they came to DVD but one that I remember "Where's that fire" wasn't released on DVD :(
one very quick youtube search later and I've just watched the entire film :D

I appreciate there is copyright somewhere but it's such an old film (1940) and it isn't available to buy anywhere anyway.

Anyone else remember him?

Not sure if it applys to films but i was told with books copyright only lasts so long, which is why all the classics like dracula etc are free on kindle..

Yeah, all IP has a time limit. Books are 75 years, and I believe Films are too. Thats why Mickey Mouse is out of copyright. Some things the ownership is only 25 years.

Will Hay is a bit forgotten, rather like Harold Lloyd from the silent era. Shame really as some of their stuff was very funny, even now.

Makes me want to go and watch The Plank now, especially the remake with Arthur Lowe just so I can try to work out who the people in the cameos were.
