Removing seized baffles?
 

So basically I don't think these baffles from a Blue Flame Evo exhaust have ever been removed (5 years or more) so they seem to be seized in.

Any suggestions on how to get them out without ruining them?

ive alwayd used pliers with a bit of cloth either side if they have an edge like the fuel baffle.

Yeh that's what I've been using, but its got to the point where I feel I'm going to pull the whole exhaust off! They just wont budge, haha

Try a squirt of penetrating oil of wed40 around the edge to loosen maybe?

Take the can off and knock the baffle out from the inside with a broom handle.

Mate has a similar predicament at the moment.

Garage said easiest way to sort it is to drill or cut the old bolt out/off depending on how good access is.

You can always replace the bolt.

Pipe grips and a hammer. Clamp the grips to the outer edge of the baffle with the handle pointing away from the can, then hit the handle with an 'ammer towards the back of the can. They'll come out quick enough.

Just to make sure, you have actually removed the securing bolt?

Oh yeah my bad misread, thought you said the bolts were seized! If they aren't ignore what I said.

If it is just the baffle, have you got a portable heat source like a blow torch? If so and you can get hold of some compressed air like a computer air can you can try the heat/cold trick. You will likely need a mate.

Heat the outside if the can near where the baffle is seated, not on the area but near, do the whole circumference if you can and gently heat it up. Then get a decent pair of mole grips on the baffle and spray the compressed air on the baffle and get your mate to give it a good tug. If it doesn't go straight away a few taps with a hammer on the baffle should help to loosen and grime in the way and repeat the process.

Cheers people for the responses. Managed to get them out... (Wd40 and some grips) she now sounds gorgeous!!
