2002 first gear noise
 

I just bought a 2002 sv650 with 15000 miles on it. The bike runs great for
The exception of first gear. When you take off in first i hear a kind of crunchy/ notchy
Sound. I dont know if its a real problem or not. Its almost a rattling
Sound like its comming from the bottom of the motor. Any ideas?

Is the noise only ever heard at pull away?
Does it stop once you've completely released the clutch?
If you slip the clutch lots and keep the revs low does the noise alter/reduce/disappear?

If a general yes to the above, then the problem is very likely the clutch release bearing/seat.

The noise is there when the clutch is all the way out. It dosnt feel like anything
Is slipping just sounds like rocks rattling around when taking off in first, you can hear it in second if you shift to early and the motor is struggling

Rattling clutch springs maybe? Not sure if this is an issue on the sv, but have heard a similar problem on other bikes.
