Bought SV650.
 

Suzuki SV 650S K6 in Blue on a 07 reg with 15K mileage.

Absolutely delighted with my first SV650, bags of torque, well balanced, turns in real nice, has a decent amount of power and looks pretty good.

Came with Carbon end can, slightly raised rear, seat cowl with pillion seat and grab rail included, rim tapes and small indicators.

Feels a bit soft up front: will be scouring these forums for cheap solutions for that and the end can pops quite a lot when I roll-off.

Needs: Tyres next spring, chain + sprockets and a service.

Toying with the idea of fitting a high performance air filter to compliment the end can along with a re-map of the ecu. Also thinking of ditching the original brake lines (front only) in favour of steel. And cost effective front end firm up.

To those long term owners; do you guys have any suggestions or advice re: tyres, chain + sprockets, performance filters, remapping ecu, brake lines, front end mods.

S/S Braided lines, GSXR front e,d , GSXR/ZX shock, Renthal Anodised sprocket, with Renthal Gold SRS Chain, Lots of Chinese Bling (levers, Reservoirs etc) High performance Air filter (likes of K&N, BMC etc) Full custom dyno map, Pilot Road 3 tyres, unless you are tracking it all the time, then Supercorsas.

Not long had mine. Put new can and levers but that's it really. Oh and a black screen. Great bike for mr to get back into it all. Been off for 15 years.

Thanks Tomor, I'm not looking to spend loads on it, any goodies will have to be bargains. I think an improved filter and re-map is a must because it needs filters anyway and probably could do with adjustments due to the end can.

Like the idea of anodised Renthal C&S.

Nearly did buy a really nice curvy in yellow (fave colour for curvy) but this pointy was on my doorstep and good value.

Oh my word! I'm going to like this SV! Even after just a few days of ownership I've got the feeling that Suzi and I will get on famously. This bike seems to do everything well and with ample power for today's roads. She's very easy to ride and very stable tipping in, through and out of corners. Brakes seem good enough for one up riding without luggage. Bit soft at the front as mentioned earlier; cheapest solution I've come up with so far is upping the viscosity of the fork oil, it might help a bit. Haven't ridden her that hard yet so it'll be interesting to see how composed she'll be when I get brave enough to push her harder. This bike is fukn ace; good commuter, blast on recreational rides, a fun track day bike and good for a tour of France or Spain I reckon. Wish I'd got one sooner!:razz:

No need to remap unless you're getting a ridiculous can. Upgrade filter? What, air or oil. Maybe change the stock air filter but that's not a lot of difference. Biggest gains is improving the front end (springs/emulator or GSXR ideally, but oil viscosity will not do a lot) and getting good tyres. Then ride it until the tyres are finished (without binning it) and you'll have a far better idea of what it needs then.
