Atomic weapons testing, how many do you think?

A clip on youtube shows the total nuclear detonations each country has made (between 1945 and 1998 ), it is 7 minutes long but hard to stop watching.

Care to guess how many? I'd wager a good portion of you will underestimate.

It'd have been interesting to have the doomsday clock overlaid with that to see the correlation. Minutes to Midnight indeed.

I've seen this many times before just over 2000 if I remember correctly, also just over half of all atomic detonations were carried out by the good ol' US of A. Itchy trigger finger eh.

Very possible, my attention span is considerably less than a year. Will have to check tomorrow now, got me wondering ;-)

I think the US alone managed my entire estimate. I didn't realise the french were so big into nuclear testing.
