Pointy at its best.
For me 6-8000 in 4th or 5th. Speed wise just hovering in 5th on the motorway she is ready for anything. Above 8000 runs out of puff more quickly. How about you?

Re: Pointy at its best.
The road to Minehead along the coast from Weston, running at about 45 to 50, the engine purring and the ride engaging with out being scary.
I have done this route a few times because my ill Aunt lives over that way and I find that spending time with her is good for us both. The bike though seems to know the way and can almost steer itself. It is a joyous ride to what potentially can be seriously bad news. The various corners and the way the bike seems to know what gear is needed and when, it just feels like this road was the one that the SV was designed for because it feels like the bike is singing as she flows along the road. It is not the speed, it is the feeling of peace in a beautiful place even when it is peeing down like it was yesterday when we came home. |
Re: Pointy at its best.
For me its being sat at the local meet. All sorts of spangly sports bikes turning up and my sv somehow gets all the looks. (Might not be for the right reasons but who cares, when people gather around it rather than the 1098's and desmo's it makes me smile)

Re: Pointy at its best.
I always found my SV was at its best on the Dukes Pass A821. I also think the SV is a better bike if you lower the gearing. Bigger back sprocket is the way to go. You loose very little at the top end but it gives it more grunt out of the corners. YIPPPEEEE!

Re: Pointy at its best.
The 1st wave to another bike on the passing this was after the initial run in after the bike sitting outside for 3 years & me replacing the gearbox with a complete rebuild.
I honestly was about crying with the biggest smile on my face.... |
Pointy at its best.

Re: Pointy at its best.
I work in leeds, meaning i have to go through the tunnels on the ring road... one of which been a good 200/300 metres long.
After doing that commute 5 days a week for 14 months, every time i can't help but grin like a little girl (200mm Beowulf can) |
Re: Pointy at its best.
Bala to Trawsfynydd, the Blue Beast adores that road :)
