Lovely looking car mate but have to ask the obvious question, why on earth did it need a new clutch and gearbox with only 56k on the clock...? Also, and I'm being a bit picky here, it always makes me wonder why people mention a fault but then add that it's a really simple fix that they just haven't got round to doing. The mechanical hood on a BMW is a big deal, having any kind of fault with it is going to put a buyer off, I'd find the time to adjust those cables...... Good luck selling it though, hopefully this brief slot of fine weather will help you out!

No problem!

1) I taught my best friend to drive around the Uni car park, and he must have stalled it very hard or one-time-too-many, because afterwards there was some vibrating resistance when putting the car into first. Because it only affected putting it into first gear, some people may be able to live with it but I wanted it to all be as good as possible, so I took it to a mechanic. As per his advice, replacing the clutch was the first thing to try to fix it, but that didn't resolve the issue so he sourced (what he says was) a newer gearbox and fitted it. That issue is no longer there.

2) The hood opens well, but just before the tonneau cover closes there is some fabric which needs tucking away because it doesn't pull-in quite enough. The guy whom sold the car to me was a mechanic and he said he knew the issue was just some tension cables need adjusting or maybe replacing. I haven't had this sorted yet because A) I avoid trying to fix car stuff myself and B) None of my local mechanics were confident doing it, and I haven't had time to source another mechanic or take it to a specialist. I haven't wanted to lower the hood in this recent weather so it's been very low on my priority list!

Hope that answers your questions!

I hope those legs in the last pic don't belong to the blonde!

Now at £2200.

Question- does anyone have experience putting up a car for auction vs. how much they expected to get? Say I think the car is worth £2200 but nobody is biting. Is it at all possible I would get that via bidding? Bearing in mind the bids would have to reach ~£2500 before eBay take their cut for me to get what I want.

eBay is crap for selling motors IMO, too many chancers and time wasters, try auto trader, cheaper than eBay if it sells and less idiots, sold my van on there in two days, nothing but hassle when it was on eBay.
