What's it worth?

What do you think is a fair price for my Suzuki SV650S K6?

Registered in 2007 on a 07 plate, 18000 miles, major service 300 miles ago, new PP3 tyres, new chain & sprockets, very nice condition. Comes with the following, listed in signature. Got the pillion seat and colour coded grab rail and original indicators (LEDs fitted). Also has shorty dog leg levers and I have the originals.

with these type of questions the actual look of the bike makes a difference as does where you aim to sell it, but ball park £2,250 - £2,750, for a fast sale £2k.

Go to a showroom and ask how much you'd be expecting to pay from them, then knock off £500-£1000.

Chances are, rictus is right. He normally is.

Cheers guys :)

It's a good looking SV, paint and plastics all good and some quality mods. Alas, having recently got my leg over a Striple R a change is imminent.

Ditched the idea of finance, apart from possible minor boost with a 0% interest cards. I think I'll probably go for a private sale with mine and buy a low mileage Striple R somewhere for cash. That way my bike is worth a bit more and hopefully I'll end up paying out less.

In fact there's a reasonable chance I'll offer it here first of all.

You may struggle to find a used Striple R that is the same as the current model as it only came out last year. The previous model had the high-level exhausts which, although they look great, weigh a ton and affect the handling of the bike. Buy a new one! You'll be glad you did.:D

Hi Ninth, i agree the 2013+ is improved on the previous model. I'm not into the under seat exhaust system because of the extra weight, I actually think they look cumbersome and what's more, I can't use my Oxford soft panniers with them in the way. If I opted for a pre-13 model I'd need to get one of those Arrow lowboy exhausts or similar. I know that the 13+ model have slightly revised geometry and front/back weight loading and having recently ridden a 2013 R version I'm smitten.

My current plan though (subject to change) is to run the SV all summer, look to sell it at my leisure for a decent price and buy a used 2013+ R model next year. I just paid out for a major service on the SV along with new Michelin PP3s and chain and sprockets so I want a bit of use for my money. Hoping I might find 2013 that's 15-18 months old next Feb/Mar/Apr that has a few tasty extras in the 6k-6.5k region. I reckon I could get a nearly new one and own it outright if I take that route.

I'd love to just go out and buy a brand new one but I'm not loaded and actually the SV is a lot of fun. Want to pay a decent chunk of the mortgage this year as well so I must try to exercise patience.

That said, I'm going to test ride a std version, R version and a KTM 690 Duke next saturday. I reckon the KTM will be a hoot!
