7x5 vs 8x6 number plate on SV?
Anyone got any photos of either a 7x5 or 8x6 plate fitted to their bike, trying to decide which one will fit an SV650 better?

Re: 7x5 vs 8x6 No. Plates?
8x6 is an ideal compromise, i have this on both of mine and never had a problem. I have a 7x5 underneath it and got a VRN first time out. Mind you that was in Wales!!!
I wouldn't go that small, you're just asking for a tug. |
Re: 7x5 vs 8x6 No. Plates?
8x6 looks legal from quite a distance where as 7x5 is obviously to small. £60 fine ain't worth the risk

Re: 7x5 vs 8x6 No. Plates?
I have an 8x6. Best compromise. Not too small not too big. Never had any issues with the fuzz

Re: 7x5 vs 8x6 No. Plates?
I have a 7 x 5.5, but I only have a 6 digit plate so doesn't look too small.

Cheers for the the replies guys, just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to make a mistake by switching to a 7x5, gonna go to a 8x6 instead

Re: 7x5 vs 8x6 number plate on SV?
Remember it's the font size not what it is on that is the legal point
A1 fit a small plate a treat |

Re: 7x5 vs 8x6 number plate on SV?
I got a fail on my MOT for having letters too close to the edge of the plate, i.e. 7x5. It had gone through previous times at other places, so either the guidelines are blurry, different levels of diligence or some places will do anything to fail/sell some stuff.
Either way I now have a 8x6. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk |
