Any numismatists in the house? Coin query

My wife inherited a bunch of coins a while ago from her German father, they certainly look cool but I wondered if anyone knew anything about them?

The album is here:

No worries if not as I appreciate this is a bike forum but collectively we cover a pretty wide span of knowledge. :smt023

I think Ostereich is Austria. Number 7 seems to be some sort of commemorative coin I guess. Translates out to 125 years of Police in Austria. A bit of Googling also turns up Immanuel Kant from one of the coins:

Some more for you:

Quite enjoying digging on these coins! 45-2 are gold sovereigns.

I assume you've already spotted the sovereigns and krugerrand. The german 20 mark coins made into a bracelet are all 90% gold, as is the the Austrian 100 corona.

The German 5 mark coins, Austrian 100 schilling and 50 schilling coins are all silver.

I'm not an expert, but I don't think any of them are particularly collectable. If they were mine I'd just put them in the back of the safe and leave them there.

Regards,

Keith.

Slide 123-2. It says 1915 vintage are still official, but have been reminted in Vienna.

Likely what we will do TBH, not looking to sell them so much as know what to do to look after them (ie pay for a safety deposit box or just a home safe ETC) but to do that needed an idea of value. Looks like I'll be finding an appraiser for the highlighted ones.

Thanks for all the help guys, I'm manic at work right now so haven't been able to comment in the day but I'm really grateful.

Check what your home insurance says about valuable items. You should definitely lock the gold coins away. The silver ones are not big ticket items, somewhere around twenty quid each
