Cover for Pointy S with topbox?

Hi guys,

Looking for some advise on a cover for a S with a Givi top box.

Seen a "large" one in (ahem cough cough) Halfords for £30 ish wondering how waterproof and snug fitting it is.

Re: Cover

I'm pretty confident in recommending these....http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/74297

I've got 2 on 2 different bikes. Medium fits a curvy naked just right. Might be ok with a top box it's hard to say really. Unless you can get info from someone who has a articular brand/model it's a bit of a guess.

I'm hazarding a guess the Halfords job is mince. Most bike covers are.

Edit...After thinking about it a bit regarding the Premium bike cover linked above I'd say go with large. I have a large on my Virago and it fits just right. That bike has bar end mirrors, is longer and has saddle bags fitted. I'm thinking it should fit an SV with a high top box especially if you have a fairing. Is it a Sport? Thing is they come with the usual clip underneath and a throw over strap which can pull the cover tight around and under the bike if it's a bit loose. Don't shoot me if I'm wrong though.

Maybe someone else will chime in.

Re: Cover

Best thing I found was to take top box off when covering and put back on when required - better choice of covers and less hassle trying to get the cover on over the top box.

Where are people with covers parking their bikes? Street or house entrance? Is it worth the time spent on putting it on and taking it off?

Out the front of the house, worth the effort as it protects the bike from tree debris and bird droppings as well as the worst of the weather, means I can get on a reasonably clean dry bike in the morning.

I've used the Oxford Stormex covers for the last 6 years (front driveway) without issue. It takes literally 30 seconds to put on, but saves paintwork from the elements and does an OK job of keeping other carp off. It's not gonna stop stuff furring up if left untreated, but for the cost and time it takes to put on/take off, it seems to be a good investment, offering moderate protection.

I hope you get an answer but that post was from 5 years ago.

"Nobbylad" referred to an Oxford Stormex cover, here's a link:
