Re: washing textiles
When I think they need it...
always use nikwax texhwash too |
Re: washing textiles
I did mine when the white bits looked dark grey.
In the wash machine on an outside clothing wash cycle with the jazzy nikwax stuff. |
Re: washing textiles
Every 2 months or so.
Wash with Nikwax Tech wash, then again with Nikwax Wash in, then leave to dry naturally outside if I can. Once dry I tumble dry it to make all the little fibres stand up to aid with water beading. |

Re: washing textiles
You're supposed to wash them...
Joking aside of course I wash them. I do every time it rains! Someone suggested wiping with baby wipes, did sweet FA so didn't bother again. Still might explain why there as waterproof as a paper bag. |
Re: washing textiles
As above

Re: washing textiles
Yeah, about once a year in the machine with a bottle of NikWax. However if the smell gets too strong, they might get done more. I once had a curry stain on my trousers for six months because of spilling a curry while out on a ride. Is that wrong? ;-)
Funny, I have never washed my leathers, not even sponged them down. But I did have the liner replaced because the microbes had developed their own sentience and trawler men kept complaining about the whiff when I rode past! :D |
