Cam Chain Replacement

Hi

How often should the cam chain be changed on a pointy please?

Bearing in mind mine is a race bike, change the one on my 400 every couple of seasons,but looks a tea pig of a job on an sv?

It is, I don't know of more than maybe one person who has done it. Try posting in the racing forum, but on the road, it's a very rare thing indeed

I don't think they are considered a weak point and don't think I'd replace them as a routine service item even on a race bike

never, if the camchain is needing replaced then its a certain bet the engine is on its last legs.

oil oil oil... keep a close check on the level coz if that runs low its goonight.

Having seen the price and faff it is to do it,glad it is not seen as a service job,is on 400.
