First run of the year

First run of the year on 01March for me.
So if anyone wants to tag along that would be great. Meet at McDonalds at Westerhope at 10:00 for a 10:30 start.
Route out https://www.motogoloco.com/map?route=3768
Route back https://www.motogoloco.com/map?route=3779

I'll leave to details loose atm. If there's enough interest I'll post up petrol / fag stops etc.

Your thinking of going out tomorrow??? Are you mental? The trees are bent double up here... I'll be ear plugs to block out the wind and rain... I hope its not as wild down there with you!!!

We are likely to go north up the coast, anything to the west looks far too wet and windy. I think the Hartside would be madness.

Been out today, headed west, was OK, got one wee shower, but was mostly OK, bit nippy when stopped , but was worth it.

Definitely didn't head north, reports of hail, sleet & snow around topside of D&G.

Hope you got out and got the weather we did :-)

My bike and mates brand new 15 plate Gixxer 1000 MotoGp.

lucky lucky people. We've had good hailstorms so there was no way I was going out... Need to be brave soon...

Re: First run of the year

Yes we got out and as the weather didn't seem to bad we headed to the Hartside and did the planned route. Temperatures at Alston Moor and at the cafe down to 2 degrees, pleased I had electric grips, gloves and seat. Richy didn't seem bothered by the cold. Even managed a pint just before home:D.
Swaffle seemed to enjoy himself on his first real ride out, 190 miles and only a couple of light showers.

All in all that's my "grin fix" sorted for the week.
Next weekend forecast for 15 degrees, bring on the Talla-Megget:p

Good job you didnt encounter the thunderstorm that hit the M6 as i was heading toward Liverpool this aftnoon, cracking lightening bolts, hail, snow and rain to boot.

For once it was nice to be in a car, despite the numpties all around.
