Youtube, and a bit of temptation

inspired by Tamsen on here by setting up her youtube channel, (good vids btw and I have subbed), decided to start actually doing something with mine.

Uploading some videos from gigs/festivals that some of you may like and obviously bike rides :D I'm just starting at the editing so bare with me on it.

Whats your thoughts on positioning of camera's etc? What angles do you like watching video's from? I was thinking of getting a mount for the mirror bars as the countours are a little weird with the fitting? Doo tell.

Heres the latest vid (allot of the footage is from LOM's GoPro behind me, and mixed with my own). The temptation is that this is the Kinlochleven loop going to the hotel for the GM.

Personally I find the split screen bit a distraction.

Camera angle is good.
Have seen vids from the camera in the fairing showing the front wheel and road that looked good if done correctly.

Either music or more motor noise or both.
Someones always going to knock the tune you've selected but most I know just turn the sound and listen to their own fav's if they don't like yours.

Just my 2 pence.
Keep up the good work I like your bike vids.

Re: Youtube, and a bit of temptation

I was thinking of the angle from the fairing under the wheel.. tempted but abit iffy as I know my luck, ill loose the camera, run over it, come flying off... and after all that... I wont have turned it on so I wont have captured my graceful dismount.

I may just switch from angle to angle rather that PIP now, it was just abit of a play to see how to do it. i do like it and I think its good when the bike is close from behind and you can see the lean, but sometimes I think the angle is wide. I think LOM wanted to try a narrow angle next time to see what we get.

I'm going to try and turn up the sensitivity on my camera for the internal MIC and see If I can get any sound out of it, just is so low and muted its horrible

Glad you like them :)

oh yeah way faster ;-). you can get the practice in during the GM.

I'm thinking about heading up early Saturday to see Mark and Helen (& do a few laps) so I should be able to get you some footage.
