Looks like he intentionally did something to the front of the other bike either pushed the bars or grabbed a handful of brake.

Not on in my book!

make an example and ban both of them as the other rider clearly done something prior for the incident to come to a head like that.

There is nothing the other rider could have done that would excuse behaviour like that, period. That was quite deliberate and the sport needs to send a very clear message that such actions will not be tolerated. Regardless of what the courts decide I'd like to think he won't be on another grid anytime soon.

He's out riding in World Super Bikes at the moment. So his team and Ducati don't seem that bothered by it. Well not at the moment.

the other rider might have we dont know. for any professional sports person to react like that it must have been something serious. only banning one of the riders just makes the other rider and possibly other riders think they can get away with misbehaving. banning both puts out a much stronger message.
