Customised SV650SK3 - cafe style - Fazer headlight, GSXR front end etc.
It’s time to say goodbye to my SK3-based custom/project. I already have another project in the garage and I fancy getting back to trackdays and maybe racing next year so I need to make some space.
I bought the original bike from another forum member (ska_authentic) late 2012, and I spent the following year-ish converting it into its current form. Spec as follows: Originally a copper SV650 SK3 (04 plate) that had done 30,000 miles-odd. Cat C recorded when I bought it due to damage from an off involving a kerb, I believe. Engine and frame are standard. V5 in my name. I have 2 keys. MOT until April ‘16, owner’s manual and service book. GSXR front end (750 K6 forks, lower yoke and stem, K6 1000 top yoke (steering locks in ‘straight ahead’ position), wheel, axle, discs and rebuilt callipers) GSXR clutch perch (retains clutch switch) and radial front brake M/C. Galfer braided front lines, Goodridge rear Pazzo levers. Headlight unit from a FZ-6N (Naked Fazer) - new when fitted, mounted with modified Fazer bracket Koso db-01r digital clocks 2013 R6 front indicators Rizoma front brake reservoir & custom, billet rear reservoir GSXR1000 K5 shock, BRG Racing lightweight dogbones (standard length) Pyramid hugger Armstrong wavy rear disc Samco rad hoses Scorpion stainless exhaust (with db killer) Ricambi Weiss bellypan and undertray Custom seat cover Beowulf stainless rad & oil cooler covers SV1000 airbox mod (“snorkel”) billet keyless filler cap (German, not Chinese) Renthal grips Bar-end mirrors (Chinese, not German ;-)) SV650 SK6 side stand, rear light unit and rider footrest hangers/controls SV650 K3-N radiator (to lose the filler neck) Crash bungs Professionally painted in Benelli Tornado green with a white Ducati Corse style stripe. Also stripped and repainted rear subframe, new OEM air filter, painted gen/clutch covers, new throttle and clutch cables, and lightly polished swingarm, lower yoke and footrests. http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/...pspb4z3uc0.jpg http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4tf7avjd.jpg http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/...psqr6fw1hn.jpg I’ve done a bit over 2,200 miles on it since completion (which is what the clocks now show). Bike is kept garaged, never seen salt since I finished it. Also piles of receipts for parts, and possibly some spares when I dig the box out the shed... As ever, it's got a few issues: We can’t get the fuel gauge to work (shows empty), rhs front disc bobbins are very loose and rattly (OK for now, but I’d replace eventually), and a few stone chips/scratches here and there, mainly on bellypan – well, it’s for riding not looking at. Don’t really know what it’s worth – front end alone is a good few hundred quid on its own (but you lot know that!). So, I’m asking £2500 ono (which doesn’t cover what it cost me). Plenty more pics if you’re interested. Cheers and stuff, MICK.. |

Sorry, not being derogatory, just re-stating facts.
There are so many threads on here that slate/tell people to avoid bikes that have an insurance write off category, they may be absolutely fine, but still have a reduced value however much they have been repaired/modified. Hence the "good luck" statement. Again to Geordie Mick, good luck with the sale. |
