fork springs

Seen some used but clean looking progressive fork springs going on fleabay for a good price and was wondering if they are worth it. Im 18st and was planning on having fresh oil put in the forks next week, likely some heavier oil to make them a bit stiffer. Ive also got a zzr1400 rear shock going on the bike tomorrow if i can get the bugger on myself. Just thought id get thoughts about if i'm better just putting the new oil in the forks or if im better getting the fork springs? The price to change the oil is £85 so i would only want to make a change once.

I run uprated linear rate springs and slightly heavier oil on mine. I'm a similar weight to you and it's OK. I had progressive springs on my old Bandit 6 and was never really happy with them.

Were they too harsh on the bandit?

Na, the opposite it always felt a bit bouncy.

It's these I've got on my bike. I bought them cheap off a mate who was selling his bike, but to be honest they're worth the money.

Hi mate, I'm 19st myself, just wondered what you have your front preload adjusters set to ?

The lad who owned my sv before has thicker ktec springs and heavy oil fitted as he was 17st, so it's got to be somewhere near and much better than stock for my weight

I've not got adjusters on my K1. I did have to cut down the tube spacers above the springs as instructed by Ohlins but I've no idea by his much as it was about 12 years ago.
