Re: Terry Wogan
I wondered how bad it was when he played no part in Children In Need last time. They said he wasn't well enough and that was so much his programme.
I grew up with Blankety Blank and the chat show back in the days when we had 3 channels. What I liked about him was when he went off on his jaunts he met people and with such friendliness, laughing along at their customs with kindness not putting them down. Something Clarkson, Chris Tarrant and Graham Norton should learn. His voice over of The Eurovision was always the highlight. I remember a group of us watching it one year and supporting Poland because we had a load of Polish vodka. Every time Terry made a dry witty comment we had to do a shot. It wasn't a sober evening. |

I'm also of the generation that grew up with him on the radio at breakfast time and making us laugh in the evening. That daft wand microphone on Blankety Blank and seeing Kenny Everett bend it was so funny, especially when Terry just carried on after a "look" to camera. He'll be missed by so many people.

Several talented singers/groups got noticed and their first hit through him playing them on the breakfast show. Also pre-empted Morrisey when he did The Floral Dance by singing it with a bunch of flowers . . . |
Re: Terry Wogan
Will be sadly missed. Do a YouTube search for Janet and John, Terry Wogan. You'll cry with laughter
