Front brake lines help!

Hello.

I know nothing about bikes, I have 2008 model sv650. its the first bike picture under 2008(k8)
http://www.sv650.org/model_history_f...el_history.htm

Im in quick need for new front brake lines/hoses, braided. Ebay dont have the ones i need, as there is a splitter which splits between calibers, and the spliter is not escrew in type. Eurocarparts dont have too.

My brake fluid is empty, as it leaked through the front and im desperate for any help.

Is there a guide on how to replace them myself?

Also what break fluid should i buy?

You don't need the splitter, you can run 2 seperate lines from the reservoir, just with a longer banjo bolt. Get HEL, Goodridge or another brake line retailer to make them up to the right length.

As its brakes & you don't know anything about bikes, then get a shop to do it for you, its brakes they save your life.

If not get a mate to show you how, its not difficult, but easier with two people.

Where are you based?

Im based in Uxbridge.
I think i could manage alone, just need a guide to see it.

Would I need any specific brake fluid?

DOT 3 or 4 - it states the type required in your manual or on the brake reservoir cap.

Just beaware that the thread on the banjo bolt supplied with that kit might not be the same as on the master cyclinder.

Some have fine thread, some have coarse threads.

So if it doesn't thread in easily after a few turns, don't force it.

Might not be the same on the pointies, but i know it affected some curvies, depending on the master cyclinder manufacturer.
