Look a bit unstable but does the job if fitted properly, be careful of damaging paint when fitting.

Thanks - do you just leave it dangling from the back of your bike if the other one isn't attached? Am thinking if you go out for a ride and have it in case the little one gets tired and can't make it back.

Under your above scenario, I would say that will only result in an accident. What would stop it swinging out sideways?

There is a clip to stow it safely to the side of the rear wheel. This is the whole point of it, let the little one ride the bits they can then tow them up the hills

Good idea, still wouldn't want one - I have 3 kids. 7, 5 and 1 3/4. Doesn't appeal.

We probably don't ride as much / as far as you. The two boys love riding so we ride to suit them. Their pace their distance. Little one, well she gets an easy ride in the rear seat.
I imagine if we were to start riding further, when the boys get bigger, then something like this might appeal then as Alice simply wouldn't be able to keep up.


If it suits your situation now, as it may mine one day then I don't see an issue in getting one.
If it makes family days out more enjoyable then it's a winner. Noone likes moaning kids.

We used them and loved them.
1. Get a deep socket set to put them on or you'll be spannering for hours.
2. If you are doing a lot of road riding or crowded cycle paths, fit a mirror to the front bike
3. Disconnect kids back brake!!! Remember to reconnect when you set them free
4. If kids bike is at a jaunty angle it means the bracket on the seat post is not straight
5. Self amalging rubber tape stops damage to the towed bike from the bracket (and is cool stuff to have anyway). Ensure that you leave an excess of backing tape on the roll otherwise it's a bugger to peal off. 6. I rode miles and miles with it "dangling". Plastic clip is a bit crap. I has a small bungee and strapped it to the seat stay. Never had a problem.
7. Reversing is fun
8. Takes a bit to get you head around the shims to set the ride height but you'll get there with a bit of trial and error.
9. We have taken kids with stabilisers. Not ideal but does still work
And most importantly
10. Encourage kids to pedal when going up hill. Makes a lot of difference.

Wow, thanks mate. I also found out about a FollowMe Tandem, but they're £200, even if they look the business
