Re: Battery charge

Why do you need your lights on when charging the battery?

lights are going to draw more current than the trickle charge from your charger is my uninformed guess, depends on the sate of your battery too?

When i ride out n use my lights it flatens my battery but without lights battery is pj. Ran a test with battery tester and it showed battery wasn't charging when lights are on.

Re: Battery charge

Can you measure the actual voltages across the battery with the engine running and lights on/off? That's the only way to be sure, really.

Yes, we need more info. Also, have you done any mods to the bike like dual HID conversion or anything?

Sounds like the good old RR problem

Re: Battery charge

I've just fitted a Mosfett type RR to mine, wasnt too tricky, but then most of it was wired up. Be aware that some of the 1st gen bikes have two connectors, some have one like mine. My Mosfett was wired with 2 connectors, so i had to sort that out. But its easy, as you just need to connect the 3 yellow wires from the stator to the 3 input wires of the new RR, and then connect the output to the battery.

im sure its Electrex who do a better RR for the sv too
