Ugly green corrosion near valves on k3
Hi,
After taking the throttle bodies off my k3 that's sat for around 5-6 years I noticed a load of green scale/corrosion at the top of the inlets. It looks like there's also corrosion down around the valves, not sure if this is stuff that's just dropped down or not. Pics here - https://imgur.com/a/NbeQ6bG What's the best way forward here - I'm thinking I'm going to need to pull the engine, break it down and take a look at the damage. Is there a simpler way? I can't see a way of getting to the valves without removing the engine. Cheers, Chris |
Re: Ugly green corrosion near valves on k3
Maybe ethanol additive in petrol causing corrosion when allowed to stand... horrible stuff.

Fantastic - and it looks like the UK is moving from 5% to 10% ethanol...
