mirror mounts
 

I am having trouble with fitting mirror risers to my 2020 sv650A.
Does anybody know which way the locking nut on the mirror stem unscrews ? ( which way does mirror stem unscrew from mounting nut )
I know the mirror mounting nut unscrews anti clockwise from the handlebar mount.

Are the like Yamahas?
On the MT the rh mirror is opposite thread to the left. Left is the usual righty tighty, lefty loosy (clockwise screw in). But the right hand one is righty loosy, lefty tighty (anticlockwise screw in)

On my Hondas the mirror stem itself and the locknut (22 in the diagram) has a LEFT HAND thread, the adapter (18 ) into the lever mount has a right hand thread (both sides exactly the same).
I don't know if the SV is the same arrangement but worth a check, my friend's Triumph was like this. This pic from https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/

Thanks for the replies. I knew what a Honda cb650f mirrors were like but I now know how the 2020 sv650a mirrors work. Both left and right side are the same. Adaptor in to handlebar mount is right hand thread.
Mirror stem and locknut is left hand thread .

LH nuts and the heads of LH bolts always used to have a notch cut in the 6 corners of the hexagon, but that does not seem to be done any more. Trouble with LH threads has always been that if you cannot see the thread you don't know which way to turn it and can shear it off trying to slacken it when you are actually tightening it. If you look at the fittings on flammable gas cylinder hoses ( like calor gas ) they are LH and have the notch.
