Regulator/Rectifier
 

Hi Guys

I have a charging problem with my '99 SV650 and have proved it to be the regulator.
My question is will a regulator from a K4 fit.
I have one and apart form it being slightly larger in size ( which I don't think will be a problem) it has 2 additional wires on the multiplug to it. 2 black/whites and 2 black/reds. From what I can make out from the diagram the black/red is an ignition feed and the black white is an earth. The K4 regulator has 2 of these. I cannot get hold of a K4 wiring diagram to verify if these extra wires are really needed. The multipug is different as well but that also won't be a problem.

The one from a '02 wont even fit (I know :roll: ), so I'd seriously doubt the pointy model's would work :wink:

pm svsk2 i think he still has a reg/rec from his bike he didnt need

Just an Update with regards to the later regulator.

It does fit OK. The spare feed and earth on the unit were ignored and the terminations changed. It is slightly larger but does still fit behind the seat panel and longer bolts are also required.

Thanks for the replies and I will contact SVSK2 as a spare wouldn't go amiss !
