Luggage and other quality mods (somewhat Idle Bantery)

I posted this in Idle Banter, but some smart-**** moved it here

Ken McCull-thingy ( ) will appreciate this. Take a look at the thead and the replies. There' some more detailed pics of the construction as the thread goes on if anyone is interested in replicating the construction. Eagle eyed thread readers have pointed out some additional mods as well

The whole story is here:

I wonder quite which of the several meanings of 'appreciate' my learned friend is thinking of  . If I am being asked to estimate its worth I would say somewhere between not very much and not much more than that?

DIY is a wonderful thing of course but it can be taken too far. In this case I think the DIYer's enthusiasm has got the better of judgement. My bike's luggage arrangements are a model of aesthetic discretion compared to this. As for those little bits of perspex on the rad :?: I mean what's that all about?

If he rides about with any weight at all in the box those bits of bent allloy are going to flex and crack soon. Then where will he be eh? Up the proverbial with a loose topbox flapping round his rear wheel I surmise. Not to mention the bits of alumininum up his back passage. Eeeek!

And apologies Ken, for giving up on 'McCulloch'.....
