undertray
wheres the best and cheapest place to get an undertray for a 1999 model
|
Pers'nally I still reckon there's no better way to do it than the official one, it's not exactly cheap- £110- but requires absolutely no modification, cutting, headscratching or similiar to fit, is entirely road legal, has sensible indicator mounts, and is coloumatched. I've not seen another tray that looks good, fits well and is colourmatched for less...
Mine has cracked at the front, mind, so I'd recommend you use rubber washers and larger metal washers down there to spread the load a little. |

Unfair! it was only on there one time I crashed it, and I had all the rear end off after that happened and there was no damage at all... Though of course there might have been invisible fractures under the paint. Seems likely that it's just worn from everyday bumps, with the battery bumping the tray.

ok thanks, i,ll have top do bit of overtime then as i dont want no hassle of cutting and scratching me head cause it dont fit, and colour coded is allways best when ya got a blue one :D

There's other ones that don't need cutting the original tray, and some that need cutting the tray but are pretty straightforward... But it seems like you should steer clear of the real cheapos... You get what you pay for :)

I'll 2nd the recommendation of the suzuki oem... unless you want the fancy inbuilt indicator ones etc then you can't go wrong

I was about to ask this very same question!
I pulled up at a petrol station and saw the same bike, same colour next to me, with built in indicators, and looked great. Got chatting and he said he got it from the NEC, (national exhibition centre, birmingham) for £85 but he said ya can get em cheaper, i.e. £40. And he said the one he got was already colour matched. I live in bristol, but im seriously lloking for one, it takes the little rusty bars off from underneath, replace the indicators, only thing is ya need a bracket for the number plate. Well where can you get this original one from? and where can you buy cheaper ones from cos i dont mind playing about with them. Anyone bought a cheap good one? good ta here your thoughts cos it tidys off the rear end a treat!! |
