So, this Veypor thing's pretty cool, eh?
I fitted my Veypor on sunday, and I've been playing with it ever since. What a cool wee thing! Dead, dead easy to fit, I did have my doubts about the RPM pickup since the SV has a famously noisy coil signal that messes with gear indicators, but it went pretty smoothly (it's the black and orange wire on the front coil, folks, and you can take it from the control box in the tail if you don't want to muck about under the tank- just make sure you don't pull the coil plug off while you're fitting it, or you'll regret it... And if you put the speed sensor on the rear brake disc you can conceal the cabling behind the brake line for Stealth Logging. And the RPM multiplier is number 6.
I've not got any useful HP or torque numbers out of it yet, but all the RPM and velocity functions work a charm. The unit itself seems a little cheaply built, a bit mid 90s portable games machine, and for some insane reason the buttons are recessed into the box, not protruding, so they're hard to work in winter gloves... (I'll sort that easily enough, but it's not too clever)...
But it's really cool! It mounts up really easily with a jubilee clip onto the front of the lock mechanism of an original shape bike, so that the mountin is more or less out of sight when not in use, and the unit doesn't obscure the clocks or anything- really nice in fact, I'd sort of assumed it'd end up looing awful...
I'l post up some photos once I've got them, and post progress once I've got the rest of the functions going. What a wonderful toy!
