pulling out of the local garage and had the back wheel spin up and the bike slipping into a left hand low side..hmmm interesting i thought to myself i do hope the big frick off wagon behind me can stop before crushing my legs..unfortunately those thoughts soon vanished as the back wheel gripped and threw me into a right handed high side a double salco with pirohouette later i stood up and took a bow..the kids outside the garage all held boards up showing 9.9 so it must of looked impressive

anyhows damage is extensive but superficial barring a snapped rear brake lever its still rideable quill exhaust took a beating but will do till i buy a new one rear brake is snapped and the hangar bent in, lowers are scuffed but i can live with that,top fairing is pretty smashed up but again i can live with it for now,indicator is smashed but useable and i have a spare anyway,front brake lever snapped off at the weak point so its still useable and the screen is smashed where i did a ribs v screen strength test not sure who won the screen is smashed completely and it feels like i may have cracked about 3 ribs so we'll call it a draw,i have an original screen so that can go back on for the time being..after the crash i went for a blast for a 100 miles or so (cant let a knackered bike and buggered ribs get in the way of a ride can you!)and the bike handles fine although it felt a little funny with the footpeg being set a little further back


moral of the story ....cold tyres + slippy roads + lots of throttle = expensive repair job :shock:

haven't done that myself in a long time, but it does bring back all the memories :shock:

you've got the whole winter to sort the bike out, this time of year we're into function season, pretty time comes back about April or so.

As you were pulling out of a garage forecourt, there could have been spilt deisel or petrol.

Oh for f***'s sake, Paul... Still, at least that gear lever survived! Did you get yourself checked out by the pros? that's why we pay our taxes...

maybe thats why the bike changed its mind and wanted to crash on the right instead of the left..it couldnt face another 7 months with a nut and bolt for a lever :oops:

as for selling it ..that got put on hold for awhile for one reason or another,chances are even if i do get a bigger bike i'll keep the sv for the track the prices are so low now its not worth selling even more so in its current state

thanks for the well wishes ...not been to the hospital yet just finished a night shift so not had time plus i figure they cant do much with ribs anyway...as for the bike thats staying as it is for the winter i'll pick all the bits i need up but leave them till better weather comes, i'll be riding all through the crap weather season and i dont want to tempt fate
