INCREACE UNDERSEAT STORAGE
INCREACE UNDERSEAT STORAGE K4
Increase the storage area under your seat with this simple idea. I have a genuine Suzuki seat cowl so may not work with all other manufactures products. Take two strips of rubber I used some thin buetile liner that I had left over from my pond project. (Never throw anything away) Approx 165mm long by 20mm wide then punch out a hole at each end. Then find yourself 3 M6 penny washers to stop the rubber tearing. Now remove the two seat supports using a 10mm socket slide under the white plastic part two of the rubber strips and replace with the washer under. Then take the other two ends to each of the other two mounting points holding the spring lock, place the washers on top of the straps and bolt back into place. Now you can slide your tool kit under. I recommend you place it with the popper facing the plastic seat cowl then there is little risk of the tools spilling out. I do have pics but i am buggerd if i know how to post them on here. You will find them in the sv1000 forum here http://www.sv1000.zyns.com/forums/sh...d.php?p=135534 But you will need to be a member to view. http://bikes.carsick.me.uk/underseat/UNDERSEAT1.JPG http://bikes.carsick.me.uk/underseat/UNDERSEAT2.JPG http://bikes.carsick.me.uk/underseat/UNDERSEAT3.JPG http://bikes.carsick.me.uk/underseat/UNDERSEAT4.JPG Can anybody help with posting them here in the thread |

That's clever :D
However my toolkit lives in a little box outside of the underseat area, so I guess I could use it to store the disclock instead |
Neat idea. I've got a Suzuki seat cowl, so may try it.

Of course, the alternative is to buy one of those Suzuki top boxes that bolts on in place of the rear seat, then bolt the seat pad to the lid of it. Neat idea, dontcha think?
