Portugal stint

I am looking to do a stint to portugal some time next year when its warmer. What is the SV650 like doing a 2400km/1500 mile stint twice in two weeks, thats if i go through france if i go directly to spain then it will be much less. about 1400km/900m aprox.

2 years ago we took 5 SV's into France and did about 1700 miles. Bikes will be fine, just remember:
  • Have the bike serviced before you go
Make sure your tyres can handle all the miles, if not fit new about a week before you go
Keep the chain lubbed or fit a Scottoiler
Don't thrash it all day every day
    Take a bulb kit

Most of all, make sure you're having fun.....

probably one day she will let you, does she not ride?

Hopefully when i go there next year, my brother will allow me to have a go on his VFR. Nice bike, but he does not use it that much (he crashed his last one several years back, and has changed since. More lightly that its because of his children)

nope , she wont go anywhere near it... suits me , means i get to go out on my own he he.

Anyone?

I wouldnt know personally. for me the sv wasnt comfortable enough for me on long distances , hence changed it for a vfr800. I know that will handle it no problem.

but i'm sure some on here will say the sv can do it also. i cant say either way.

Fit a gel seat and you should be fine. If I can do 1300 miles in 3 days on a Gixer (550 miles on day 3!) I'm sure you'll find it a breeze. But as I said before, make sure it's services, they tyres are OK and don't give it stick all day long and you'll be fine.
