Cold weather performance
Having been out for a ride both yesterday and again this afternoon - both times pretty cold here in the south-east - I feel that the mid-range performance is markedly sharper than when the air temperature's warmer. Anyone else noticed that?

I remember getting a cool air box when i had an mgf , and the difference was fantastic . |

Cooler air is more dense than warm air, therefore you'll get more oxygen through into the cylinders, so a slight increase in power - however I would have thought it'll be a very slight increase in power, so I'm not sure you'd actually notice it
Having said that, I could have sworn that my scooter used to accelerate better when it was cold  The cold air effect is quite pronounced for aircraft however  |

Cold air is the cheapest horsepower you can get. seat of pants tells me a 50°F drop in temp is double the hp I got from a pipe & jet kit.
when it's below freezing, I can do roll on wheelies in 3rd gear |
Wow, thats some good statistics.
I havent really noticed it on the SV, but my CG used to Have alot more pep on cold days. |
