Flipin eck its gold
because of all the ****e weather we seem to be having lately I have been getting very lazy when I come back from my weekend jaunts and just dumping the SV in the garage.
Whilst doing some maintenance work (rear brakes) the other day I had to admit to myself that the bike needed a damm good scrub. So yesterday whilst cold, it was dry. So decided not to scrub the bike and as I could not possibly get it any dirtier I would play out instead. And the same this morning. But when I came back my guilt complex for the state of my bike won over the call of the central heating. I bathed it and discovered I owned one of them blue ones. but that crudy chain was screaming at me. Now the other week I was in my local halfords and discovered that they now have a bike section and picked up an arosol can of Holts Motorcycle degreaser. It was supposed to degrease chains. Well it does what it said on the tin. Took all the nasty old crud off. A years worth of chain wax and scott oiler. When I wiped it down with a few paper towels I discovered I had a gold one. Gave it a good polish and it looks nice. A coating of motor oil and then the chain wax. Hopefully it will stay in this nice colour for a few ride outs. And I promise to be good to my chain in future. Even increased the flow of the Scott oiler as for some reason it had dropped to about a drop a day. Now to get about 2 drops a minute I have to have it set on no 8 I wonder if some crude has blocked the nozzle? |
