original can
probably been posted before but i cant find it, looking for a way to connect the original can back on for the MOT (retest) has anyone found a slip over pipe or anything to seal the joint? tried one from Halfords with the clip around it but couldnt get a good seal even with 2 extra clips on, any ideas appreciated. Failing that has anyone local(ish) to Mansfield got a full system I could borrow?
Dealer happy to give the bike a full MOT last year with the same can on to get a sale. Thanks Rob |
Hmm, I think most people just use the short tubes that are provided with their cans (assuming they got one) and a slap of liquid gasket... It only has to last acouple of hours after all. If you're having no luck, I should have one out the back somewhere that you could borrow... Never tried it myself so I don't know how well it'll work (I'm having Zorstec legalise my race can for me instead)

Haven't the rules now changed to allow any can that ain't stamped as not for road use. Or find a test station that has a more relaxed attitude to cans |
rules have changed yes, but I was advised by the people that look after my bike that it could still be failed, if they compare it to another bike that is similar and the can on your bike is way louder.
I put my standard can back on, but my race can came with a link pipe that let me do that Sounds like your best bet is to hunt around and see if you can find link pipe that will do the job for you Good luck |
Thanks for all the help but problem now solved, managed to talk Scorpion into making a link pipe for me, cost £10 & picked it up the same day as they are only 1/2 hr away.
Again thanks for the help Rob (22) |
