Speedo problems K3

I know this is only my 2nd post, but I'm wonderin, has anyone experienced problems with their (digital) speedometer on their bike?
Mine has stopped workin altogether, it was workin intermittently for a couple of days for a while, but now its just stopped
Any ideas?

MY PROBLEM PRECISELY!

Quickly have a look at the speedo pick up probe its down on the left side of the bike sat on top of the gearbox sproket cover it has just one small allen bolt holding it. They have been known to work lose on the 1000 and you could end up with a smashed cover it has happend. Failing that remove it and give it a clean. Failing that follow the wiring back up the frame could just be a loose plug.

Sorry just had a look and the 650 is not the same cant see the probe
May be under the sproket cover

Cheers, I'll have a look at that later, although I don't think the speedo on the 650 is run from the gearbox, I think its run from the front wheel, and all the wiring looks intact, no damage obvious, I'll have a good look later though.

Well I know that my connector is not loose. It sits in the back of the headlight unit, and is so tightly connected together, that I cannot budge it. It looks like it may be resin sealed too, but somehow I doubt that Suzuki would have gone that far.

As for the pickup, it sounds like the Thou is different. IIRC the 650 one is a fairly sealed unit, with no sign of allen bolts at all. My only option at the moment, as discussed with Steve Jordan MC's is to get the wheel off, have a look, give it a clean, and if it's not visibly broken, and still doesn't work, then they can do a warranty claim.

The speedo is run from the front wheel. Have you had your front wheel off lately, ie for a tyre change?

The speedo sensor on the faired model is on the front wheel. A plastic spinner locates on to the front wheel with four spigots and the whole lot turns inside a black plastic housing. When refitting the front wheel if the spinner is not located fully the spigots can break off when tightening. A replacement costs about £14 from a dealer.

No, front wheel hasn't been off for a long time(actually I need a front tyre), but I have been doing small wheelies, would this cause the problems??
