"Not for road use"
Got my bargin ART race can yesterday \:D/
Only problem is that pesky stamp on the can strap that says "not for road use". Whats the best way to remove this? Rub out with wet n dry, or get a replacement strap? Thanks |
Or just don't bother... I never have, and it's not bothered anyone :D
|
A) Get a replacement strap.
B) Take the strap off, turn it inside out, rivet back on. C) Don't bother. |
Cunning... er, anyone got a rivet gun?
I would just leave it, cept I've not thought up a convincing excuse if im ever pulled over :o |
Just for the record young squirrel. If you do such a deed, you are leaving yourself open to prosocution under the Deception act of 19something or other, and could go to jail. Just a thought.
Leave it as it is. If you get pulled over, just go, oh yeah. Take the rectification notice, and be on your way. In 5 years, i have never been stopped for my cans. |
Excuse? I think that'd make things worse!
The exhaust is blatantly illegal to anyone who knows... the lack of baffle is a major giveaway. The cops who know about these things poke a stick down the pipe to demonstrate. (waits for misquote) |
How long you had your 996 Viney?
|
I was thinking about getting one of those wolf db killers, so I could say "Whoops, sorry occifer, must have forgotten to put this back in..."
I'm being overly cautious aren't I? |
Why would you mind ? Every Harley Davidson over here has open pipes, and they make A LOT more noise compared to my SV. They have to rev their engine at a stoplight if they don't want to cut out. (Never understood why you should pay an obscene amount of money for the most technically inferiour bike available).
Just put that race can on, smile every time you fire it up, take the compliments of people who think it's the newest Ducati and forget the (slim) chance of being pulled over for it. |
