Surgeon the knife please!

Well 8 hours work and every panel with its obligatory greasy finger marks, and the bike emerged from the garage.

People went on about my bike having changed all the bits over time, well now it’s true.

Engine change, coils changed, reg/rectifier changed, lock set changed, CDI unit changed, swing arm bearings, head race changed, yokes changed, lock set changed, fork oil changed, another pair of front indicators added, oil change, carbs stripped and cleaned, air filter cleaned and re-oiled. Tank drained and cleaned, fuel system cleaned through, Rad flushed. Rad cover Mod and fitted (for naked bike),
Re-tapping side pod (black covers) fixings and saddle mounts, straighten the front fairing frame, left hand clipon changed, switch gear (LH) changed.

Still to do: - got a swing arm to replace, new scottoiler end to put on, bobbins to put back on, tighten up head bearings once they’re seated properly.

And what did you do yesterday?

Cheers Mark.

Depressingly, that's on my list of things to do in the new year.
Mark, what prompted such a huge list of changes? You said you replaced the left clip-on and switch gear, does that mean you had an off?

115,194 miles, and a free day.

no didn't have an off, but,
handlebar clutch lever support worn (loose, lever moves up/down)
thread needed re-doing in end for barend weight, headlight flasher switch worn out, indicator switch worn.

Just some of the things that happen When you use a bike as much as I do.

Cheers Mark.

How do you clock that milage. I live in S.London and it seems that when i get my bike i will not do that much as i only have to go between Peckham and Camberwell abt 3miles/day

Carsick 02-12-04 09:57 PM

Damn.
Well, I'm kinda hoping to get rid of mine before it actually wears out properly.
I've only done just over 4000 miles in the 7 weeks I've had it, so won't even get near your yearly total over the next 3 years.
