TfL's consultation on Congestion charging

I'm not going to comment on that thieving leftie **** we've got as a mayor...

However the TfL are consulting on this new idea of wacking up the congestion charge to £8 because hes overspent and needs the extra cash....

to send them your comments to the Cosultation Committee you need to email ....

CChargeConsultation@tfl.gov.uk

Subject heading needs to contain "Variation No. 5 Order 2005"

Something about motorcylces being included in the charge IIRC....

I believe thats phase 3 in 2007 when they want to switch from cameras to electronic tags.

I dont mind less traffic, but I'm opposed to over the top rises due to poor financial control

bikes were supposed to be exempt because they ease congestion... but as I was buggering off to australia when it came in I didnt really pay much attention... would be interesting to see if they try charging bikes as theyve argued theyre a congestion easing way of travelling in... but moneys money and they never can have enough

has anyone heard about when tfl will come back with the results of the bikes using bus lane tests? I know part of the a13 was a test to see whether it eased congestion/cut accidents with a review to see whether to make ALL london bus lanes open to m/cycles.

or are they making too much money out of the bus lane charges and confusion to change it?

their website is less than clear on the new proposals.

However reading their stuff did highlight this london transport bill (which isnt the CC changes but still interesting)....

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/downloads/...a-tfl-bill.pdf

which includes a Clause 10, which will allow traffic wardens to remove items obscuring number plates and tax disks,

so much for the Soho boys getting away with parking in the street.

not all bad newsd - clause 16 means those daft pedicabs need 3rd party insurance

and finally clause 36 states that its an offence to obstruct an officer (ie traffic warden) while carrying out his duties.

Still not found the doc for the proposed changes to the CC charge (found the west end extension though)

I dont care any more, i come into work by train.

Balky001 06-12-04 01:54 PM

£8, that'll mean more early risers and jam packed roads at 6am.

It is amazing how people can get totally ripped off and there is nothing anyone can do about it, apart from lobby. Personally, I ride as often as I can but if this did come about in 2007 for bike, I would have to get the train, which is too crowded ayway as C2C gave half the stock away to another line!

I don't care any more, I've ripped off Viney's reg plate
