Interchangeable Stuff - Rear Sets
Just been wading through all my rear set spares. I've got a load of bits from a K3 (2003) and another load from an SY (2000).
The main mounting plates look like they have the frame fixing holes in the same place so should be interchangeable but the K3 foot pegs mount about 2 cm lower. Might be useful if you find the older bikes a bit cramped. The gear change lever is exactly the same on both models. The foot peg assemblies, including mounts, rubbers, springs, etc. are all the same. As far as I can see the only part that is different is the rear brake pedal. Even the rear brake master cylinder should fit fine as the holes line up and the levers are the same. I bet Suzuki has given everything a different part number though just to confuse us :D |
Eenteresting. I'd always been told that the mounting brackets don't swap, but I've never tried it. Good for the habitual lever-breakers amongst us to know :)

As you know, the rear set on a K4 is a one piece affair, which is bad news if you just want to change just the scuff plate. Are you saying the "non sharper and faster" (read pre K3) version rearset will fit a K4? If so, then that would allow me to fit "tarty" scuff plates :)
