Fuel Light broken

Since I changed the jets on my bike the fuel light doesn't work no more. I coasted into the petrol station today . When I start the bike up the fuel light comes on so the bulb is OK.

I checked the wiring coming from the tank (the three wires from that large nut thing) and they are connected fine. Leads me to believe there is wiring under the carbs I might have touched on changing jets. Can anyone help?

More than likely sender unit in the tank.

What it's gone? I had noticed some days when really cold the light sometimes did not come on. How is this repaired / replaced? Can I stick a multimeter on the leads and hoist the tank up and down to check resistance?

Dunno, haven't even looked at mine. Best RTFM and get back to us.

By process of elimination you'll have to go through the entire circuit anyway. Get your haynes and your fluke and have at it

Sender Unit

I've got a fuel tank sender unit going spare if you need one.

Just add a tenner on top of the exhaust money...

Mike didn't you get my last email? I've bought pipes from Gregsv650. I'll get back to you on the tank sender if I don't get mine to work. Is it an isolated unit?

No Andrew, I haven't heard a thing from you since the message you sent at 10:38am on Saturday asking me to throw in the front down pipe along with the collector box and rear pipe.

So having messed around the guy who I sold the engine and frame to in order to get the various exhaust bits off to help you out and then getting a message from you that suggested you were going to buy them and wanted the front pipe as well you've gone off and bought them from someone else without letting me know.

Thanks mate, much appreciated!

Sorry mate, but I got for half the price and to be honest I had emailed him before you, just he's RM and doesn't have Internet 24hrs/day.
