just fitted remus grand prix does anyone have jetting specs feels a but fluffy on part throttle other wise seems loads better. [its a 99 650 s]

I'd put 142.5 mains in it, do that first, then have a fiddle with needle position to get best throttle response and pick up, despite what I've seen written, I've found that there can be quite a variation in best needle position between otherwise identical bikes, I'd definately suck it and see bike by bike, rather than simply take some empirical advice based on one situation.

What size are standard jets?

Can't you just alter the needle position with the circlip or am I being to simplistic here. I would just like to point out that I have absolutely no idea what I am talking about. Just thought I would ask the question out of interest. I have a Scorpion race can and I have not altered jets, needles, fuelling or owt. Am I causing any damage?

Standard jets are 137.5, roughly speaking needle position will control mixture strength only up to about 3/4 throttle, main jet above that, of course there is overlap of the various systems.
No, you probably won't do any damage running a pipe on standard jetting on an otherwise standard bike, if you change the filter to something freer flowing there is a good probability of running a dab weak, but with your pipe on changing to slightly larger jets, eg 142.5, will very likely make it run sweeter anyway, as overall mixture will be slightly richer.
As standard the SV runs ever so slightly towards the lean end, mainly due to the emission controls.

I think you are talking about shimming the carb needles. I have seen it on the internet and apparently it works quite well with a pipe. I have not had any personal experience with this, but there information about it on the US based site www.svrider.com in the tips and tricks section. Good luck to ya. I will be looking into some jetting changes in the not too distant future, so please keep us informed as to your results.

You don't need to shim the needles on a UK bike, they're slotted so you just move the wee e-clip and hope it doesn't ping off and vanish without a trace...

Cool, I didn't know that. Do you know why the difference? I am just curious. I know there are different emmision requirement there compared to here.

Nah Bigape, luckily Weegaz warned me in advance so I was careful :)

Junior, no idea why- we get bigger pilot jets as standard too. The needle profiles could be exactly the same for all I know, so maybe the only difference is the grooves.

That does raise one question.

I will be purchasing a renegade twin high level exhaust shortly. Since the jets on my bike are smaller than on a Uk spec bike, will that cause problems (ie A/F ratio, running lean)? Just curious. I was told rejetting was not necessary, but I wonder if that only applies ot Uk spec bikes. Any info is always appreciated. :D
