Where to get suspension work done?

Hi Guys, was wondering if anyone could recommend anywhere in the Oxfordshire area that could put some uprated springs + oil in my forks, and set the suspension up.

Cheers, Alex

Do it yourself. If you're not sure what you're doing, people on here can help. 8)

If you want the best job possible doing take it to MH Racing in Calne. The guy really knows his stuff I use him to rebuild the Ohlins on the VFR

For what you want done though, it's perfectly possible that you could do the best possible job... It's dead, dead easy. The pros would do you much better work with a more adjustable setup, but assuming you've decided what oil you want there's nothing they can do that you won't.

I could give it a go, but, other than a rear paddock stand which isn't much help, I don't have any way to raise the bike off the ground. Was looking at 'Adam's SV' pages at the guide and thought I could have a go, I guess I'm just nervous taking it all apart :?

What weight oil is recommended? I've got a K4 GSXR-1000 shock to go on the rear...

Cheers for the advice :)

I live in a village about 5 miles west of Oxford on the A40.

You want an Abba stand... Bloody brilliant things. I probably use mine more than most but even so I reckon it had proved its worth after one shock swap and the first time I worked on the front end, just from stability and safety. You can do the front end just with a rear stand and bottle jack, but even with extra supports/roping I'd still be paranoid of it falling.

Not cheap, sadly, but you can't have everything.

Ah, bit far to borrow my stand then.

I've go an NWS stand, better than the ABBA stand because its got a backstop so it cant move at all 8)
