Had my first off..... :(
Yup had it a month :( went round the corner and a silly woman ran accross right in front of me, grabbed the brake lever (i know i know :( ) and went down. Fairing on the left side is a bit scraped but the gear lever is knacked so had to leave the bike in the garage at work in soho :/
also the clutch is all twisted and bent. Gotta keep my eyes out for a gear lever for a k2... anyone have any ideas or should i just go find a suzuki dealer, and anyone know what sort of price im looking at? sorry about the amount of questions :P Oh well, i wont be riding to Frith on Friday i guess, even tho my bike is about 2 mintues away hehe :p but id still like to pop along... (ill be the one in a bikers jacket but no bike :p ) Iain |
Sorry to here about this Iain, but it's a classic, you used the normal reaction to a situation "grab a handful of brake", which on a bike is normally the wrong one.
Given time, you learn to react differently and with more control, but it's a thing that takes time. Good news bad news time, you say the gear lever is knackered ? could you be a bit more descriptive? as if it's broken the toe peg off, it can be drilled and replaced with a bolt easily (not pretty but it works, failing that I think I have a butchered one in the shed you could use for now? Hows the clutch? just twisted the lever? I've got a spare you could borrow as well until you get a new one. A new gear level , if I remember right is around the £30 mark or something like that. as you are only as you say "2 minutes away" why not stick the bike in second gear and ride it down, I could probably fix it there and then (well enough that everything works anyway). Let me know and I'll sort out some tools and the spares and bring them along tonight. (will PM you my mobile) Cheers Mark |
PM SENT.

I think I've got a useable clutch lever, (I'm not certain - it may have gone in the bin), but if I have , would you like me to bring it?
|
wow thanks for the offers :) yeah the toe peg has been taken off, the clutch lever is all twisted, but its rideable so not too worried. I saw mike1234 was selling a clutch lever so pm'd him to see if its still going.

Bad luck Iain, these things happen
I suppose the silly cow ran off - not much chance of getting her to pay for the repairs  I'm on Dean Street, so if you want a hand getting the bike round to Frith Street/Nero's, then let me know cheers |
Sorry to hear of your off. Glad you're ok though!
I'd search this forum or several brakers for spares before trying Suzuki as they do cost & arm & a leg! I'll be on foot tonight too so looks like we can get in some quality drinking time! Damien. |
Spoken to Iain (Balsca) and will pickup a new lever this afternoon for him.
will also be bring some tools and a spare gear lever to either fix his or change it. so the immediate problems will be resolved this evening a Soho. Cheer Mark. |
Bad luck, it's all a learnig curve and at least you're not hurt. As you can see, being part of the Soho Massive not only has kudos but has the benefit of freely given assistance from those who can help (so if you want your bike cleaned just let me know  ).
