GSXR600 or SV650s cant decide

I am in a dilema, have achoice between sensible (swv650sk3) or not (gsxr600 k2). i mostly intend on comuting round london, i fed up of tjhe pariign fines, CC and getting nicked driving in the bus lane, cost me about £130 a month!

Anyway i know the sv will be cheaper to buy run and insure, but the gsxr is very tempting though twice the price to insure!

what do you guys reckon?

I've not ridden a Gixer... but the SV is a lot of fun around the streets of London - especially with a nice Can!

Watch the tourists part out of your way and you crank the throttle and roar down the road.

For commuting around town, an SV would be the best choice. In fact its the best choice for any sort of commuting over the GSXR. The GSXR isnt meant for low speed commuting so its a bit pointless.

For long distance/fast commuting (A roads like me) then id go for an SV or some sort of sports tourer.

Yeah mate, come here and ask us a question like that. What do you think we'd say?

Get the SV :!:

Why don't you ask that at www.gixer.org - oh wait, i made that up, guess you'll have to get an sv

Also, a gixer will just get nicked

http://www.gsxr.org/ exists though! Oh, hang on, it's just a holding page.
A holding page with sponsored links, easy money or what?! :!:

I've never riden a gixer so couldn't tell you about it but commute on an sv everyday in London, it's perfect for the job. guaranteed smile everyday...

Dont think you will be too disappointed with the SV.
Not ridden a Gixxer, but had a 600 ZXR for a while and the SV makes
much more sense on an everyday basis. Certainly for commuting.

I had an SV then moved to the GSXR, used mainly for commuting into Birmingham city centre.
The GSXR was a blast but after 6 months I got rid of it as I feared for my life! It was just toooo much (fun/danger) for riding around city streets all of the time.
You don't mention how much experience you have - if you don't have much experience then the SV will be the better bet - a lot eaiser/safer to ride and more forgiving.
I am now looking to get another bike and will be getting another SV.

yea i want you to sell me on the idea of an SV! if only for my wallet. i passed my test 8 years ago and had 600cc sports bikes but havent ridden for 4 years. Dont think id trust my self of a gsxr round town either, just too tempting to do straight to jail speeds!
